Sorry, but I agree with your mom! By the way, it's called lust not love...

That's a tough one. I would talk to my parents. I would be the parent for once and tell them to wake up. They are probably thinking of all the baggage that comes along w/it. Like if you two go somewhere. You would get looks and threats, and they don't want anything to happen to you. How bout asking your parents to meet him and his family. And then once they see he comes from a good home, maybe they'll ease up a lil bit. I hope it works out for you. Take care. And be careful.

Yeah your parents need to welcome their self to reality... i dont get racisim. but its not like your going to get married or anything and its not going to hurt anything as long as you know he is a good guy then go for it. you never know what you really want tell u try new things. i am dating a black guy and my mom has no problem with it. other people do but its my life. what are they gonna do when they say u cant see him no more and you dont listen? nothing.

your parents shouldn't care about who their daughters dated that much, only whether she's happy or not. also being racist never helps any one, ever. you're making the right decision by taking the chance and i hope the best for you.

for one thing, your parents need to GROW up, this is the 21st century not 1850! if you like him than follow your heart, your parents will just have to accept that!
