Here's the recipe taken from the "Good Housekeeping Cookbook" - a trustworthy staple of any recipe book collection:
Scotch Pancakes (A.K.A. Drop Scones)
100g (4 oz) self-raising flour
30 ml (2 level tablespoons) caster sugar
1 egg, beaten
150 ml (1/4 pint) milk - preferably whole milk.
1. Preheat and lightly grease a griddle, or heavy-based frying pan.
2. Mix the flour and sugar in a bowl. Make a well in the centre and stir in the egg and enough milk to make a batter the consistency of thick cream. Mix as quickly and lightly as possible.
3. Drop spoonsful onto the frying pan/griddle.
4. Keep the griddle at a steady heat, and when bubbles rise to the surface and burst (2-3 minutes of cooking), turn the pancake using a palette knife. Continue cooking for a further 2-3 mins, until golden brown on the other side.
5. Place cooked pancakes on a clean tea-towel, cover with another similar towel, and place on a rack to cool slightly. This keeps the steam in, and the pancakes do not become dry.
6. Serve warm with butter, or cold with jam and whipped cream.
*Variations*
For richer scotch pancakes, add about 25g (1 oz) butter/marg, rubbing it into the flour before the addition of other ingredients.

200g plain flour 2 1/2 tsp baking powder 2 eggs 275ml milk 50g melted butter 2 tbs vegetable oil 1 tsp sugar Pre-heat oven to 140ºc/gas mark 1. Sift all the dry ingredients into a mixing bowl. Add the eggs, sugar and butter then slowly pour in the milk a little at a time, stirring with a wooden spoon. Begin with a thick paste then gradually thin it out with the remaining milk to achieve a smoother batter. Do not worry about the odd lump. Do not whisk the mixture or it will become glutinous and tough. Place a large frying pan over a medium/high heat and, using a piece of kitchen roll, wipe its bottom with a thin veil of vegetable oil. When the oil looks hot and hazy pour 1/2 ladleful of batter into the pan. Fit in as many pancakes as you can, at least 2 at a time. When little bubbles begin to appear, after 1 or 2 minutes, turn the pancake over using a spatula. Cook on the other side for a minute, or until golden brown. Keep the pancakes in the preheated oven while you make a batch. You may need to give the pan another wiping of oil between batches.

Scotch Pancakes You don't need to wait until Shrove Tuesday to enjoy some old-fashioned Scottish baking. It's now something of a dying art, but Scots women used to make them habitually as part of their daily baking routine. Of course, you can now buy the ready-made variety, but there's nothing like the fresh taste of a warm pancake straight out of the pan and smothered in butter, home-made strawberry jam and cream - although they can be enjoyed with anything from chocolate spread to maple syrup (for an American variation). Ingredients 8 oz plain flour 1/2 tsp baking soda 1 tsp cream of tartar 2 oz sugar 2 eggs milk Method Mix dry ingredients. Stir in the beaten eggs and enough milk to make a batter with the consistency of thick cream. Place spoonfuls of mixture on a hot, greased girdle or frying pan and turn into pancakes when bubbles burst. When cooked, keep them warm in a cloth.

My Mothers recipe take,12oz's self raising flour
1Pint of milk,
Half oz. of butter,
1Egg,
Half teaspoon salt.
Seive salt &flour together,melt the butter, beat the egg and melted butter together then add them a little at a time beating steady,then slowly adding milkbeating vigourously to a thick creamy batter. How are getting on. Heat a gridle when hot drop tablespoons of batter about an inch apart, cook until bubbles form on top turn and cook other side till brown. Enjoy with your cuppa with a bit of butter. Bye.

In the event that it's a fruit they have seeds, otherwise it's a vegetable. And vegetables are usually grown in the ground while fruits are grown in trees.

if you mean the cakey type use the grill for 20 secs. if you mean the meal ones like minced beef ones or cheese ones use the oven
