it's my internet boyfriend.. he usually makes me go to bed before he leaves at night but, last night he was tired so he told me i could stay up for 15 more minutes. i stayed up for 35 minutes and sent him an email telling him. it was only 20 minutes more. so, he emailed me back saying "so, you owe me 20".
20 what?
i'm serious, i know it's stupid, but what does he mean?

It was probably a joke on his part. Maybe 20 pushups. Just joking, why don't you ask him. See what kind of answer he gives you, if its something really stupid, maybe time to move on.

And back to your question, I think he'd mean either 20 minutes of talking to him, or he'll (somehow) "make" you go to bed 20 minutes early

From your informaiton, he usually makes you go to bed before he leaves, and you stayed up for 20 mins. more then what he had hoped, then it seems you owe him 20 mins of your time.. to chat or whatever you do. It would just be simple to ask him...

He meant you will have to leave internet 20 minutes earlier than usual because you overstayed by 20 minutes.

If your emailing him he can't make you do anything! But if its a virtual chat room then he might be cheating or he wants you foryou know "stuff".
