Use some tin foil to cover the top. Or pour the milk into an empty plastic bottle or something.

I am assuming that you are referring to the little cardboard things that were on the bottles many years ago....why not just put a sandwich bag with a twist tie over the bottle? it will keep out fridge odors and prevent evaporation.
Otherwise, how about good old aluminum foil that can be shaped to fit tightly over the opening?

You can usually buy plastic, flip-top ones in hardware stores, or kitchen departments of department stores. I've even seen them in the really cheap stores. They don't cost a lot and are very handy. Wine bottle caps can be purchased also.

the top would make little difference, keeping the milk cool is the most important thing. get used to UHT milk may be the best answer for you, it is quite nice and you get used to the taste quickly.

i think you can get these from the mail order company Kleeneze or Betterware..they should both have websites, and they deliver to your door. good luck in finding one
