I remember Oprah did something like this and found out that her ancestral heritage was something like 89% African (they even narrowed it down to a specific ethnic group), 8% Native American, and 3% East Asian.

This sounds like quite a fun test. Out of natural curiosity, I want to get one of these tests too.

Does anyone know where I could get one of these tests done?

Hey Mike,

There are a bunch of them. The ethnic heritage for free with Sorensen seems like what you would want. If you were looking to tie into a distant cousin (like 8 times removed), you could use the Family Tree DNA site, but that will cost.

With Sorenson, you may have to pay for shipping and handeling. Also, the National Geographic project looks real good, but I am sure that will cost.

There many online sites. Google and see what comes up. The cost is approx. $300 or more.

It cost enough and it takes longer than you would think
