I am getting a large male standrard poodle. This puppy will not have any cuts that make it look like the show dogs, it will look like a regular dog. So it's hair wont be in puffs at the hips, and stuff like that. Anyways, I am looking for a unique or interesting dog name. Thanks!

So your dog will be in either lamb or utility clip? As for names. When I bred and showed Standard poodles, I had a huge silver stud dog named 'Laser'.
As for present dogs names, my most unusual is my lurcher who is named 'Urian'. Anne Boleyn had a hound named thus.
Look in the dogs pedigree to get inspiration on names.
Incidentally 'Boye' is a good name. Prince Rupert had a large poodle who would go into battle with him. He fought at the battle of Marston moor where his beloved 'Boye' was killed..

I like to use a thesaurus to look find names that fit my pets. How about Corky or Twist? Or name him after his personality. It won't hurt him too badly to go a day or two without a name. Good luck!

I know someone who lived on a beach & named his dog "Hi-Tide" , isn't that cool? I thought it was clever & unique. Maybe something along these lines could help you choose a unique name. Good Luck
