What happens in the state of illinois if a bad check goes to the states atternoy...will that person talk to a judge to try and resolve matter or are they sent straight to jail?Even if they have the money that is owed the day of the court apperence...REMEMBER IN THE STATE OF ILLINOIS

The first thing they are going to do is ask you to make good on it. If you don't you best have a good reason why. Play dumb, this is the first you heard about it, the check bouncing and be willing to make good on it like right now.

If the check made it to the States Attorney and they decided to prosecute, they have reason to believe this was no mistake. Unless you have a patten of bad checks, you probably won't do jail time. I expect you will be fined in addition to restitution.
