Borderline Personality Disorder.

Ever seen "Fatal Attraction" with Glenn Close and Michael Douglas? The way she clings so tightly, then practically spits venom at him? The fact that she became so intensely involved emotionally with him after such a short period of time?

I suggest the movie as a good example of a person exhibiting the behavior. A professor I had as an undergrad recommended it, and it really did paint a not-so-pretty picture of it. And knowing so many folks with it has certainly given me some perspective on it.

It means that a problem has been identified. The problem makes the person have intense and unstable relationships. Also it can be seen that the person goes between ups and downs where the other person is sometimes made an idol and sometimes thought worth nothing.

It sounds like someone is giving one of the symptoms of Borderline Personality Disorder. This would mean that a person would have very intense friendships where they thought their friend could do no wrong, and then suddenly they would feel that friend was a horrible human being. I must say though that many people are misdiagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder and most people do not show every trait of a particular disorder. Also some people will have symptoms that are stronger than others.
