sorry i ment a Rosary..

and just leting you all know its because this one mean big lady after church came up to me out of no wheres like all mad and like in my face and i didnt know because iam trying to learn and im trying to get bapitized and my dad and i are very good friends with our preist at our old chatolic church...and i thought it was mestup because she said somthing but the preist didn't so what do you all think i dont know iam just trying to save my soul like anyone else that wants to ....and iam only 17years old i dont know if that means anything and another thing is i dont ware the rosary to be like oh look at me i ware it to show iam a true follower of our lord. thats all and to show marry i do care and yes i do pray on it..just leting you all know...

Spanish people wear the Rosary. Mostly it is a cultural thing but, normally, no, you should pray it and not wear it because it gives the idea that it is jewelry. I noticed that Bono wears a Rosary and I wonder if he prays it or if he is part of the New Age thing where all Religions are fine.

Dear airagirl,

The rosary is simply a Hindu mantra. The Lord tells us in Matthew 6:7 not to use vain repetitions. The rosary is also a violation of the 2nd commandment if they have put an image on the cross of the rosary. I also believe that many people wear "religious" items because they believe it will bring them "good luck". There is no such a thing as "good luck." These are all demostrations that the individual is not trusting God nor His word.

I think it's just the Catholic rosary...I think other religions have prayer beads that you wear like, as a bracelet or necklace.

I saw one in a shop once and I thought it looked cool, but then somebody said it was a rosary and I shouldn't buy it as jewelry--I should only buy it if I planned to pray with it. I didn't buy it--I don't want to offend somebody by wearing a sacred item for decoration. There's other stuff I can wear.

But then, lots of people get rosary tattoos, so...not sure about the sacredness of putting a pic of a rosary on your body.

Why would you want to !wear! it?
Did you have the Priest bless it?
I see no reason why you can't.
You do not need the beads to say the prayers, you can do it on your fingers.
But it seems to me your showing off ("lookie how holy I am)
But you be your judge.
A scapular is blessed and worn under your clothing as I remember. ????
