First off, whenever you make rice remember for every 1 cup of rice, use 1 1/2 cups to 1 3/4 cups of liquid. Most package directions tell you to use 2 cups to 2 1/2 cups of liquid, but I find that this makes the rice really gummy.
I have found that using chicken broth, or beef broth and a bay leaf can make your rice taste better with little effort. Just replace the amount of water with the same amount of broth. Add all the ingredients to pot, bring them to a boil (on high heat) once most of the water boils out place the lid on the pot and turn it down to simmer for about 10 minutes. Fluff with a fork and let it sit covered for another 5 minutes before serving.
You could also add some chopped onion or shallots, to the pan as you bring it up to temp before adding the rice and broth.
You could also add some chopped celantro or parsley, just as you start to fluff your rice.
You could also add some saffron or tumeric to the liquid and make it into yellow rice
Or some walnuts and chopped green apple to compliment the pork.
HOPE THIS HELPS
GOODLUCK!!!!!

Add golden raisins and toasted almonds. But really why plain white rice? Try wild rice or even brown rice. But my really favorite is a rice mixture I buy at the grocery by 'par excellence' and is a blend of white rice, wild rice, carrots, leeks, celery, bell peppers, onion and garlic. It only takes 20 min to cook and tastes and looks great! Look for it along side regular rice.

Try cooking your rice using chicken stock instead of water. Just use the same amount of stock as you would water. Throw in a slice or two of fresh ginger or add some herbs when you add the rice to the liquid.
It adds a ton of flavor and is super easy to do.

Cook the rice in chicken stock instead of plain water or, if you don't have stock toss in a boullion cube and add some herbs like oregano, basil, terragon, parsley, whatever turns you on. Your rice will have plenty of flavor.

I like to make vegetarian chili beans and make spanish rice, except with not as much tomatoe so it isn't as reddish,I use alittle bit of red mild taco sauce instead and vegan friendly taco seasoning. Then I mix the chili beans with spanish rice and then spread that mixture on top of the white rice.or I like to put a mixture of veggies(cucumber, baby carrots, broccoli, small red potatoes cut up into chunks, colliflower, and sauted onions) chop them up into liitle chunks, then toss them in a bowl with olive oil. Then add garlic salt, basil, and pepper to the chopped veggies. Then put them in a glass baking tray covered and bake them until they are soft. Then pour the veggies on top of the white rice.
