A259, head for Eastbourne, Hastings, stay on A259 all along the seafront in Hastings, keep following the A259, think it is signposted for Folkestone. After Hasting is Guestling, Icklesham, Winchelsea, Rye, Keep following the A259 which eventually will take you to Brenzett. There is a roundabout with a Little Chef (yuk) and a petrol station. Go straight over the roundabout which will take you towards Ashford. Before you get to Ashford you will see sign posts for Canterbury. Can't help you after there but the Brenzett way is by far the quickest.
Edit: just read the previous answer ... 81.3 miles???? don't know where the AA get it from ... no wonder they can take their time to get to you. From Seaford- Hastings is about 40 minutes drive, Hastings Ashford is also about 40 minute drive. Looking on the map Canterbury is closer to Ashford than Eastbourne is to Hastings. I'd say about 65 miles at the very most.
Speed depends on time of day. Obviously :-))
