I bought my computer used and after I put a new hard drive in, my DVD software that enabled me to play dvd's on my pc is now gone. I have an HP computer and I have a CD-drive as well as a DVD-RW and CD-RW drive.

Anybody know a good free dvd software program that I can download that will enable me to play dvd's on my computer using RealPlayer or even Windows Media Player?

Check out VLC

It's a great (FREE!) all around media player which will also play DVDs.

There's an excellent program to do what you want, and it's free. It's called "Video LAN" and is available to read about and download at the below link.
