You're right, they shouldnt be able to do so, but then why arent we closing the borders? Wouldnt you think that if our government actually wanted to do something about it he would. I dont think he cares much about the same things we do. People, regardless of who they are or where they come from will always try to do what's right for themselves and their families, and in understanding that, understand this as well, as long as nothing is being done to prevent such unlawful entries and such abuse of our welfare system, this "invasion" as you all so often like to call it, will not end. Sure, there is much that can be done, realistic solutions even, but as long as nothing is done at all and people are willing to hire them, illegal immigrants will continue to come.

The situation is that the border is too big to guard. It is easier to monitor people on planes than to guard a huge border.
the canadien border gives the US the same problem. Canada, unlike mexico, is stable and provides fair wages. In mexico people make about one tenth of what americans make.
To answer your question. people who cross the mexican border illegally are from all of the world. People from other countries do cross thru canada and mexico. But because canada monitor people comming into canada, the problem is not as bad.
Americans want to help people. americans do not want to see people doing things illegally.
So the only solution is to work in different countries to make opportunities there. this way people will not come to america.
Sure we can close the borders, that is an option.
You also have to remember that if you live in africa and speak french, you might go to the France. or If you live in india and speak english, you might go to england. Sure america is where you live but immigration issues are global.
People move for better opportunities, not just for fun.

The thing is that the U.S. encourages illegal immigration, I would love to go there legally, but there is no way!!!, either I marry somebody or stuff like that
They should have a points system like Canada, where people who can boost the economy would be welcome, but in America they are always thinking on how to screw the foreigners, there are a hell of jobs in the U.S.!!!! Nobody is stealing anything from the nationals
See, I haven't seen any illegals here in Canada, because hard working people can come here legally, which is not allowed in America, the immigration system has to be fixed somehow otherwise you'll keep on having illegals
God bless Canada!!!

I can see where you are coming from, but I don't think most people have really thought out the problem, including our idiot President. For years Europe has been trying to consolidate all of their nations into one world government. What I suggest is that the U.S. try to consolidate both Canada and Mexico with the U.S. into one country. Soon other countries will end up doing the same thing. Lead by example. Then the economies and people all over will be tied to one world instead of a bunch of little tyrannical burgs that are trying to be separate countries. Just make everone one big country. The entire world.

I am not a supporter of illegal immigration but, surprisingly, I do have to agree with Sittin Pretty in that our government does nothing about it. As a matter of fact they actually encourage it with their look the other way policies. Here is an example
"In 2004, Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Service and the Mexican Embassy agreed to jointly disseminate brochures and create the public service announcements. The agreement led Mexican Consul Luis Miguel Ortiz Haro to tout the food stamp program on Univision's KMEX Channel 34 six weeks ago. The newscast included the partnership's phone number. More than 1,200 people called the partnership in the following days, Sanders said."

So what are we saying here? It doesn't matter whether you are here legally or illegally come and get your foodsatamps.
How about the two Border Patrol agents that were sentenced to prison terms of 10 and 11 years for actually doing their jobs. You see it is actually against Border Patrol policy to chase someone.
Even more broadly, Assistant U.S. Attorney Debra Kanof said, Ramos and Compean had no business chasing someone in the first place.
"It is a violation of Border Patrol regulations to go after someone who is fleeing," she said. "The Border Patrol pursuit policy prohibits the pursuit of someone."
Right wrong or indifferent, my opionion your opinion really does not matter until we stop sending mixed messages and our government starts enforcing the law instead of making a mockery of it

I am an American living in Mexico. The majority of Mexicans I know disagree with illegal immigration too. They are hard-working decent people trying to get ahead in terribly difficult situations. Most of them would like to see the president of Mexico knock himself out to stop corruption and make Mexico a better place to live than to keep justifying illegal immigation for the sake of the money that comes into Mexico from it.

Hmmm.. well let's see. Mexico is just a few miles from the U.S., while China and Europe are thousands of miles of away so maybe that's the reason??? Or else believe me they'd be here too. And we already have millions of Asians illegals, so it's not like distance is keeping them away. As for Africans, Americans brought them here against their will hundreds of years ago, so I don't think they have much desire to immigrate here.

again why don't you ask that to illegal europeans and asians? lay off the mexico tirade for a bit. yes i know that the most of the anti illegals claim that the majority of illegals are from mexico, though i seriously doubt they could tell apart an illegal mexican that crossed the border to an illegal salvadorian that crossed the same border. I am not in favor of open borders but i am in favor of the process to enter into this country being fair and just. I mean contrary to what I hear most anti's talk about the terrorists attack on 911, if i'm not mistaken they weren't done by illegals but instead by people who had studen visas.so if you wish to blame someone for that why not try the department who handle screening out all the people who enter into the U.S. once again i repeat why is it so easy for a person who could possibly be a druglord to enter into this country without a problem but not so easy for someone who wishes to enter to work hard. guess its true what they say all about the benjamins.

They do not answer, and the why is they have no good answer. So they give us this snow job answer of, its our human right to live any place in the world, or this it was our land first, or its to hard to stay in Mexico and make it a better place to live, or God said in the Bible to always help those in need, we just want a better life, and the U S A immigration laws are out dated. But good answer, well they do not really have one.

"If it's good for Mexico then it should be good for the rest of the world as well?"
It's happening with Mexico because unfortunately we share a border with that thoughtless, greedy neighbor.
Why does our government allow Mexico to walk all over us and send as many Mexicans here as they want?
Because our thoughtless, greedy government gave Mexico the green light due to their hunger for:
1. Cheap Labor for businesses (expensive for taxpayers)
2. Globalization (competition, meaning the ones willing to take the lowest wage gets the job)
3. North American Union (NAU) means merging Mexico, Canada & the US together, erasing our borders, which means we become one big, miserable, incompatible, unhappy region of residents/slave workers.
4. Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP): which keeps our borders open to economic prosperity (not for US gringo workers). Bottomline, any Mexican who wants to live and/or work in the US can and will, no physical, no questions asked, come one, come all. This overrides our existing immigration laws, that's why Bush refuses to enforce them. That's why he pushes so hard comprehensive immigration reform, it delivers to him his guest worker/amnesty package which goes hand in hand with his dream of NAU/SPP (our nightmare).
In fact the only ones who benefit are businesses, banks, illegals who work here and still entitled to free medical, education, food stamps, etc. (not for US gringo workers) and the governments of illegals who receive remittances. If Americans want to make a living, (no middle class allowed for us) we'd better head for another country and become an immigrant.
I believe our governments knew in advance the average American would never go for this. So it was preplanned to use select words on us like, racist, bigot, discrimination, violating of civil rights, to force us to shut up and let the big boys get their evil job done. Our government rubs elbows with LaRaza, Gonzales is one of them. They know about the communist & ACLU helping illegal hispanics/latinos, they know about Aztlan, MECHA, they know about it all and apparently approve, cause they do nothing to stop it. The only ones they try to stop is US citizens who want to save our country, our heritage, culture, language, our American dream. Bad sign!
