Some prefer it I guess, but personally I like to read the Bible in the same sort of language I speak, it kind of makes sense that way! I use the New Living Translation of the Bible or sometimes the New Century (otherwise known as the youth bible). You should give them a try - you might be surprised at how much sense they make.
