I'm comparing the New Testament to the Old one and am trying to figure out what the connection is between Elijah and the last supper...I assume its the passover meal, and I know that there is supposed to be an empty seat for Elijah. I may be assuming something wrong here, because maybe it's actually between Elijah and just the passover, and nothing to do with the last supper. A little lost.

The empty seat was Judas' (remember he left when he realised Jesus knew he was going to betray him.

I don't believe they were expecting Elijah and if they were why weren't their two empty seats another for Enoch, who walked to Heaven

ilijah's cup, usually a treasured one filled with wine is placed on the table to await the arrival of the Messiah.
(Jesus said in Matthew 11:14 that John the Baptist was the promised Elijah who was to announce the Messiah's coming.) For Christians this cup does not remain untouched. It is shared by everyone at the table in the joy that our hope had come true. The Messiah has come to us and is alive to give our lives eternal joy.

The final Supper replaced into the 1st Eucharist. The final Supper replaced into the meal wherein Jesus Christ instituted the Eucharist. each occasion of the Eucharist commemorates and reenacts the final Supper.

only if you believe in a book written by man as truth and not fiction, could this question even have relevance. Just like Christmas is a Cristen Holiday it's not it's pagan, but most people believe what there raised to believe and taught not to think or to educate them self's, fact is fact, and a fairy tail is a fairy tail.
