The rules change after Jan 23 if you're FLYING back after that. If you're traveling by car you won't need a passport until Jan 2008. Here's the State Dept site with the info: http://travel.state.gov/travel/cbpmc/cbpmc_2223.html Go ahead and go to their passport page and download an application and info so you'll be ready for the next trip! Happy travels!

Just go to your local post office. The forms to apply for one will be there. You'll have to fill the form out and send it in along with a picture of yourself and payment of around $30. At least it was 30 when I last got mine. For the picture you'll have to go to Kinkos to get that done. That'll be a few extra bucks. After mailing in your picture and application form it should take I think six weeks to get a passport. Enjoy Mexico.

you can apply for a passport at most Post Offices. Call around and see if yours processes them or maybe a neighboring office. Fill out app. you will need your parents with you and your birth certificate and driver license or other photo id. the cost is 67.00 to the department of state and 30.00 to the P.O. you will need a passport photo. most P.O.'s will take them for you for a fee of 15.00 or you can get photo at Walgreen, etc for like 8.00. it takes 6-8 weeks to get your passport from the dept of state.

Go to the State Department website.

http://travel.state.gov/passport/get/first/first_832.html

You will have to mail forms in with two passport photos. Given the timing, you'll probably need to have it expedited.

Good luck- first time, plus expedited is the most expensive passport you can get!

unless you are planning on returning AFTER jan. 23, 2007 - you don't need a passport to leave and re-enter the united states via mexico - if you are a us citizen.

you'll need drivers license, of course....but until the 23rd - no passport.

Go to your local post office

Take your birst certificate and an id

There they will have you fill out some paper work.

You should do it soon- cuz it may not get here in time.
