I have long hair, passed my shoulders and down to my collar bone. I've never gotten a bad comment on it, that's why I choose to keep it the length it is.
I'm only seventeen, and my friends keep telling me that I'll never be able to get a part-time job, because of my long hair. Is this true? It seems rather stereotypic, since I manage my hair just as well, or probably even better than some women.
What do you think?

Ignore Neno 93, he's obviously a clone of the NeoCons. Nowadays, long hair is perfectly acceptable as long as it's clean and neat.
Besides, some people's religious backgrounds feel cutting one's hair is an insult against God.
At least the Hippie Era got that right.

I don't think it is true. My husband has long hair and has since he was 16, he's 46 now....It is clean and he keeps it pulled back for work. And the hospital I work in doesn't discriminate against long hair either. Keep it clean and pull it back for job interviews!!!

It depends on where you want to work.
Some places don't have a problem if you tie it back into a neat pony-tail.
The valedictorian in my daughters school had a pony-tail past his shoulder blades. LOL....he was the last person they expected.

Some business places would perfer a man with trimmed hair they think its more office like but I think its hot especially w/ blonde or black hair

My personal opinion is no matter how much a man tries to keep up with his hair I personaly think it's still nastey for men to have long hair I think guys should have short hair and girls should have long hair.

This happened to my brother-he graduated with a great degree from Clemson and could not find a job until he "cleaned up". Sorry.

i think that it is ttly gay to have hair passed ur shoulders i mea ur not a girl and yes u may not get some jobs because pple will think ur disgusting or dirty or dont have enough money for a haircut so get a buzz cut because i am sure u look nicer and thats the fashion now!!!
