I think Jesus addressed it best:
"So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full."
-Matthew 6:2

Hahaha I agree with you. You basically said it all. Yeah I definately think she is a better role model than most celebrities out there, and I'm glad she does so much service for other people, but I do think you're right: she seems to do it for the wrong reasons sometimes. It's never quiet service. But I think Yahoo! is enjoying the publicity more than her. They keep sticking her question as Yahoo! News headlines. How is her Y!A question one of the 4 most important things going on right now? She has enough answers to her question anyways, why is Yahoo! trying to get more. Do you think she pays people to go through them? There's no way she has time to go through 3000+ questions... sorry got off-topic there. Well, soon her question will be resolved...and then some other celebrity will follow her lead and look for publicity on here...
P.S. I think it'd be hilarious to report her, lol.

I almost didn't dignify you query with an answer, but I felt that the public needs to know that Oprah is a woman who rose from the depths of poverty and extreme abuse to become one of the worlds most influential advocates against all forms of abuse against all peoples. It is her small way of saying thank you. Maybe you should follow in her footsteps and do the same. It doesn't take money to help. A kind word, smile or a random act of kindness can and does go a long, long, long and long way. May you be blessed for the ability to speak your mind and you should thank God for that ability. A lot of people can't even speak, see or hear and would give anything to do so.

I have seen a couple of questions about Oprah, but I have not seen her ads. If she is paying to have ads on this forum, she may be getting ripped off.
Good thing people like you are pointing out the fact that she is on Y!A. Wouldn't want her money going to waste.

I agree. Isn't that abuse? It hasn't been for long and already I'm tired of it. Why do people need that public recognition? Don't understand.

the reason behind that is because (in my opinion ), why not give away homes and fabulous things when at the end of the year those "gifts" are easily Tax Deductible. Legal Laundering ?
