Christians - easy target?

Question

I find all this agro about Christianity very interesting. It shows lost souls are searching for the truth. We must be quite annoying but we're not all high and mighty, we've found something and want everybody to get it too - it's free. I know I'll get some stick about this but thats what I believe. A nieghbour always teased me about church whenever he got the chance but he asked me to pray for him when he got ill. Says it all.

It soon became obvious the majority(not all) of non -religious Q/A posters are not here in search of the truth/real answers/religious debate...but their motives are strictly my opinion so I'll keep them to myself
I used to get extremely annoyed at people for accusing Christians as a whole of being like the few obvious bad apples that are well known...but then God showed me something in the bible to put me at ease
He said:
John 15:19-21
19If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
20Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
21But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me.

regarding the accusations people make of Christians trying to "shove" God down the throats of others- my experience is most of us aren't like that. Just talking about God and his love doesn't constitute trying to convert people. But we all have witnessed a few people who ARE like that...He told me to remind them of this-

Matthew 10:13-15
13And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.
14And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.
15Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

That made me realize what a HUGE responsibility we have to say the right thing when we are talking to others about God! So I pray and ask God to make sure when I speak of Him only what is true comes out of my mouth! I am sure He answered me too, because a few times I tried to answer posts and it just wouldn't go through, got erased, disconnected, etc! I love God...He saves me from myself regularly :-)


As long as we do our part to spread the Word of God, we are doing what is right;their judgement will be on them!- we can't worry about people who REFUSE to hear, time is precious!
So I stopped arguing with people on this forum about God..I'll say what I want to say in praise of God, and anyone who doesn't like it can take it up with the Judge

Its such an overwhelmingly good feeling that when you try to describe it to people, its like bluh,bluh,bluh because there are no adequate words!

If it is free then there is a chance it is no good. Always be leary if someone says it is free. How do you define or know when you see a so called lost soul ? Are you some type of an expert and try to play God ? Define a lost soul. So your neighbor asked you to pray for him. Evidently he thought you were a Christian. Christians have always been a target from the non-Christian. We are used to that. Our shield and armor are strong and can endure the bullets, and arrows that have been shot at our target. Been going on for Centuries. Remember one thing about calling the un-known , Lost Souls. When you point one finger at someone, there are three pointing back at you .

I wish it was free, but the damage done by such groups as the focus on family. and the Intelligent design/creationist cults etc is very real and very expensive. I know that a lot of Xtians say that those like Rev Phelps are extremists and not supported by most Xtians, but those fringe lunatics are supported by the rest of the religious structure. If there was not an acceptance of what hate these lunatics preach they would not be able to function. The same thing goes for the Muslims and the Jews. Religion is a "social" disease.
As for saving the World from Satan, well Satan is a Christian God.

Not all Christians are lost souls so do some more research before you come to this conclusion. The only reasons Christians even take enough time to even care about the ignorant in the world is in hopes that they will save another soul from eternal hell. Most people have such a negative attitude towrds it that they treat the Christians who try very rude. We true Christians know that the negative attitude comes from satan. The only way a person can be saved from this is to want to be saved. We Christians cannot understand why a person would choose to burn in hell rather then have everlasting life. Just because people don't believe in hell does not mean they won't go there.

No, it just shows that there are those in the world that get off on attacking other people because they have different beliefs. This happens in politics, cultures, and other situations. While I understand your frustration, Christians aren't the only ones targeted, nor are they completely guilt-free when it comes to attacking others. I have seen some Christians insult muslims, jews, atheists, etc. Look on this very site for examples. The best thing you can do in your situation is to ignore it, and not become one of those that proceeds to bash another person's beliefs. You'll better represent the Christian population that way.

because of the fact the best Minister isn't a Jew, the President isn't a Jew, there are not 2 billion Jews, we did no longer have Jewish assemblies in school, the Jews on R&S are not telling each and every physique else they're immoral, and (opposite to what particular conspiracy theorists say) Jews do no longer run the international. That this is in skill and claims a ethical monopoly merits to be a objective.

Religion has always been controversial, but it seems to me that there are alot of people who just don't like Christians for some reason. I agree I think they're searching for answers while bashing us at the same time. God's love is free and unconditional...what could be better?

I am gald you are smart enough to form a question in the form of a statement. I used to be a Christian. I think truth, logic and science dont let me believe in the bible. I do think Jesus was a great guy.(thats about it)

Try to stay strong during all your persecution. Someday there will be a place where christians are free to worship openly and live their lives according to their beliefs, without satan's little helpers getting in their way. That's my dream anyhow.

explains the persecution of christians and what we go through for being one. In the end though is the reward- eternal life, now isnt that worth being a target? Amen to that!

SOME are; not all of 'em. I have a deep respect for the ones who can think on their feet, & who know their Word. The ones who aren't afraid to challenge "religion" or tradition against Scripture.
