I get one of those decorator bags, put the gift in, and stuff with tissue paper decoratively coming out of the top.
I suck at actually wrapping things.

Get the shop where you got it to wrap it for you.
If they don't do wrapping or you made it yourself - it depends on the shape and size of the present and if it needs transporting at all.
If it is a solid shape - like a rectangle, square etc. get some wrapping paper and sit the item in the centre of the paper and make sure the item will fit inside the paper by folding it around the item. If it will fit, I find it easier to cut up enough pieces of sticky (Durex) tape and stick it to something near where you are so you have easy access to it when wrapping. Pull the sides of the paper around the object and stick each side together with the ready cut sticky tape until the item is covered.
if the item is an odd shape do as above but you may need more paper, if this is the case stick extra pieces of paper together before you start wrapping it around the item then do as above.
A box maybe the easiest thing - put the present in the box and wrap the box up..

If you are going to wrap it yourself, putting it in a gift bag with tissue paper is the easiest way to go. It's also reusable.

The easiest way is tin foil, but I don't know if they'd appreciate that.

just leave it wrapped from last year if you know what it is and regift it without opening.
Those gift bags are fast and cheap.
