How hard is becoming a Gunners Mate in the Coast Guard straight out of High School, and how hard is 'A' school after your in?

An "A" school is sort of like a general knowledge school for a given skill/category. It gets you started in the profession you are in. After that, one is able to apply for a "C" school, a more specialized school. A schools give you the starting knowledge and classes to get you moving, so to speak.

As to becoming a Gunny..I have no firsthand knowledge of that .

well im a GM in the navy, i think that its the best in the navy, but as far a school goes it was somewhat difficult, but the most challenging was going though c school.
