You see, it is reasonable.

Just because people can explain about .01% of everything gives you no right to say I'm not reasonable.

Eri - I think we have alot more to learn about truth than what we currently have. Thats all I meant. Don't you agree?

2006-11-26 07:48:29 · update #2

Eri - You don't know enough about the whys and howcomes, regarding things like that, to justify believing everything evolved from eternal space dust.

bc-monkey - Nice try, but those things are a result of processes that have already been set in motion.
And its not unreasonable as you say, you just do not agree with those reasons. That does not make them bad reasons. They are clearly not bad.

bc monkey - Another thing, if you can believe that matter can neither be created or destroyed, that its eternal, why the problem with God's eternal existance?

2006-11-26 08:02:11 · update #5

oops, "existence"

2006-11-26 08:02:54 · update #6

Black Atheist- Your the one saying a painting does not have a painter. That everything evolved from eternal space dust. No thanks.

2006-11-26 08:09:38 · update #7

Black Atheist - Thats the whole point, your afraid to admit that God did it. Because you don't like what the next logical steps are after that.

Yes, it requires intelligent design.
But it also requires intelligence to realize that fact.

Hey I was out with my Neolithic buddies today and I found a spear on the ground, isn't it reasonable to assume that someone left it there. Then there was lightening, hmmm... why would that happen... I know, with my stone-age anthropomorphising brain, isn't it reasonable to assume that someone up there is causing it. Easy, no thinking, no mystery. Pfew. And you better not tell me different!! If you deny the magical man-in-the-sky did it it is because you are afraid of the magical man-in-the-sky! Just believe or he will strike you down! There, everyone believes, pfew no thinking.

Hey the sun and stars moves across the sky, isn't it reasonable to think that the sun rotates around the Earth and the Earth is the centre of the universe. Believe or burn!! Pfew, easy answer, no thinking.

Hey I don't understand biology....

Anyway, no the complexities of life are completely consistent with life evolving (spend much time and effort looking in to it) and are NOT consistent with a creator.

There are lots of things that are complex and that I don't understand. Some of those things other people do understand. Should they be god to me? Trying to make sense of what we don't understand is comforting, because the unknown causes fear. If you want to accept an explanation that you can find comfort in, God is a good one. But it doesn't exclude the possibility that there are others. Don't you think it is rather presumptive of you to assume you know the properties of God, or accept what others have told you about God? And if you accept that God exists but is unknowable, by definition, you really haven't said anything beyond A=A. A classic circular, unprovable logical tautology. And quite useless really, except to use religion as a means of controlling the weak minded, fearful populace. "The believer is happy. The doubter is wise."

What is not reasonable is your assumption that complexity somehow requires a creator. For proof you only need to look at a snowflake or a hurricane. These things are created all the time by forces of nature and physics. There is no exterior supernatural involvement in their complexity. Also if your reasoning were to hold true, your creator would be infinitely more complex than our entire universe, but yet he would not require a creator. That is a pretty drastic double-standard that defies logic and sensibility.

No, not in my opinion. If you believe in a Creator, believe in it through faith or personal surety, not because things are so durned amazing that someone certainly must have made it!

Intelligence design is not science, as it cannot be proven- you cannot measure the supernatural, for that is the definition of 'supernatural'- that which cannot be evaluated with our current means. Therefore possible evidence for intelligent design 'proves' nothing about supernatural beings and their existence. I have no problem with believing in a creator, but don't do it for those reasons, eh?

It's easy on the brain to just say "God did it". If thinking is painful for you, it's probably best for you to think "God did it"

By simply saying "God did it" and disregard ANY other possibility is nothing but an escape from using your brain.

You want to match the pattern of life with the beginning of life. It wont be the same because they're different.

In life, something comes from something, but that doesn't mean life started off that way

2006-11-26 15:45:40 · answer #6 · answered by Anonymous · 1 0

No, not reasonable. If I were a god, why would I bother making life so damn complicated? If it were simple, we wouldn't have nearly as many birth defects or natural disastors. See? Isn't that reasonable?

And I'd like to know how you came up with that 0.1%. Do you know what the other 99.9% are? If so, then you've invalidated your thesis. If not, then you're obviously just making up numbers. Isn't that reasonable?

What about the beauty of things around us. Can that be random or are we just brain washed to see beauty.

Imagine if the sky was gray all the time.

Imagine if leaves were gray.

Imagine the world as a black and white photo.
