DPI only changes the print quality - not your original file.
With 100 DPI, you'd print 100 Dots Per Inch from left to right, and 100 Dots Per Inch from top to bottom (which makes 100x100= 10.000 dots per square inch). This would yied an enormous print but at low quality. High quality images are printed at 300 DPI.
8 megapixel cameras have enough pixels to print full page at 300 DPI.

If your talking settings on a digital camera, more DPI means a sharper image. Offsetting that the pictures take up more room on your SD memory card. If you like to print pictures at a store like Wal Mart use more DPI. You can get a great 8 X 10 print with high DPI.

increasing DPI on any image will not be a good solution.If you increase it you have to change printing quality from better to best.It will consume more ink and takes time to print it out.Keep all your setting " factory Default" that's a best solution.

no but increasing dpi will make it's quality better with crisper ,sharper looks, but will look same on monitor, unless, it's printed out.
