I only had 1 memorable teacher, although I had many good teachers. That teacher was the Rev J Coey, who spent 5 years trying his Christian best to teach me about religion. As I attended an English Grammar School, Religion was compulsory for 5 years, and was of course, of the Anglican slant, yet I had been raised rather ignorant of church.
He was a genuinely decent guy, and within a highly establishment orientated, strict schooling, he was the one teacher who actually allowed you to question what he taught; all other teachers believing that you should just accept what they said as gospel, unquestionable truth.
He failled to make me a Christian, but did teach me the value of deciding things for yourself, based on informed knowledge. A great teaching achievement.
