In conversation later, they always need to press their religion on me? I know that Jesus is your go-to guy. I know you guys REALLY dig him. Wish me a Merry X-mas and chances are I'll do the same. Keep the rest to yourselves.

Because Jesus is the hot chick in the mini skirt that everyone wants, but you went home with the girl in the halter top instead?

He seriously needs some Greg Bernhardt in his life.

I never wish anyone a "merry cheezewhiz", and you ought to see some of their reactions.

Have you ever heard of godbots who get upset if, after they sneeze, they need someone to say "gawd bless you" or "they'll lose their soul"? Such people get _really_ upset - anger, crying - if no one does, I've seen it.

Well, the godbots who are really hardcore christnuts get upset in the same way if I don't say "merry cheezewhiz" after they do. Some have even flipped out if I respond with "happy solstice day!" before December 22.

What do they expect us to do, participate in their rape fantasy? (That is how "jeebus" was conceived, after all: "god" raped "mary". So much for "thou shalt not commit adultery"....) They can have it if they want, but I'm not going to pedo - oops, peddle - it for them.

Additional:

Hey, "Miranda M"! Saying that christians have an "obligation to spread the word" is like saying the Soviets had an "obligation to spread communism", or a rapist has an "obligation to spread his sperm".

You have no "obligation", you're just rationalizing your desire to violate and invade the privacy of others who don't want your ideology. If you disagree, then that must mean you believe muslims have the same "obligation", like when muslims told Indonesian christians, "convert or die" and killed those who didn't. Hey, that's what the catholic church did to jews and muslims in Spain and France 400 years ago, so you're no different.

Or, you can do the decent thing and keep your religion to yourself.

I easily have met some people who've mentioned precisely this, and refused to spell out Christmas. they regularly use "X-mas" or "X-ian" in an attempt to get rid of Christ. those people who gain this are oftentimes immature. needless to say there is greater history to it. form of ironic that by utilising an X, they're getting closer to the unique utilization... besides the undeniable fact that, the translation of issues can substitute over the years, exceptionally because of the fact the reason adjustments. as an occasion, look on the swastika. It wasn't initially a Nazi image...

Well, it depends what kind of Christians you talk to, but those that follow what the Bible says are obligated to spread the word! Many people are not tactful or diplomatic and don't know when to stop, so that the effect they have is not to spread the Word, but to alienate people who are not ready to or open to accepting their message.

The world would be a better place if people knew how to communicate and listen to each other better. My advice to you is to take what you can from it, and politely excuse yourself as soon as you can.

As a christian, yes the bible tells me to spread the word. Listen, I don't need to convert anyone to get to heaven. I can get there without ever having a single person become Christian on my account. We do it because we care about the people around us. We know there is a God, and we know there is a heaven. We also know what happens to those to don't make it to heaven. I would risk having someone a little upset at me because I went a little to far if it meant that they were that much closer to knowing God. I don't do it because I have to, by faith I am getting to heaven. So I am sorry if anyone Chrisitan or not gets upset, we aren't trying to annoy you. We really do have your best interests at heart, at least the people I know and myself.

Yeah. I wonder what would happen if we wished them a Merry Newton-Mass (Issac Newton's birthday on December 25th)?

Also, why do they get so pissed that some of us call them 'X-tians' (which is not at all offensive-- simply a shorter name) when for the most part when they call us Pagans 'devil-worshippers' and 'Satanists', we're fairly patient in explaining that we don't believe in the Christian devil?

You know... I've said that again and again and again..

This morning, I actually received an email from one of the YA members saying that his bible tells him to do that.

My argument is this... your bible may tell you to spread the word but why do you have to do it to the unwilling? You're not going to convince anyone by harassing someone that doesn't want to know. if you wait until someone else asks, you're still spreading the word and you're spreading it to a willing audience.

Too bad Christians can't seem to understand that. It's so logical, but logic tends to escape them.
