Excellent question.

Even if you could afford it, how could you justify spending it?

Stupid. Places like that are for people who have more money than they know what to do with. Celebs come to mind. Even if I had money like that I wouldn't spend it like that. I'd still be looking for the discounts and deals. I'd rather spend $20 on a toddler coat and give the remaining $380 to a family that really needs it. Think of the groceries that could buy! Think of all the other toddler coats you could buy and give to those who really in need. It makes no sense to spend that kind of money on clothing and I have very little respect for people who do.

It's just morally wrong to spend 400 dollars on an item of clothing for a child. Ten thousand years ago a kid would have worn a deerskin and been thrilled with it.
400 dollars could save the lives of twenty Indian women living in appalling poverty. Shops like that shouldn't even exist.

They cost so much because they are brand name and supposed to be very well made.

I don't know anyone personally who buys those things for their children. However, I have a very wealthy friend who LOVES to buy outrageously priced things for my son. She bought him a $200.00 fur trimmed winter hat with matching mittens last year for Christmas. WHY??? I don't know. I think she does it because she can afford to, and enjoys spreading the wealth around to her friends.

Just remember - when it's a brand name like Burberry and Seven, you're paying for the name, not the actual piece of clothing!

Yikes!! I can barely afford to keep the growing kids in clothes from Walmart, let alone spend such a ridiculous amount on a name brand. I freak if their coat costs over $30! I don't know anyone who can afford to buy that kind of stuff, but I don't think I'd want to. If you can afford to spend that much on a piece of clothing, I'd think you could do far better with it... think of others instead of impressing people (think, socialites) who really don't care about anyone else.

People like to pamper their kids; in most cases, people associate "expensive" with "good". Therefore, people with money will buy things at ridiculous prices, nevermind the fact that you could buy the same thing much cheaper a store away.

I would never buy such overpriced stuff... the kid isn't even old enough to appreciate the money spent and the work done to get it; something cheaper could get the job done just as well.

hahaha! Those are for the millionaires not the rest of the world who is average. Britney spears does. It's just the material that is the cost of this or the brand. I see versace stuff that looks like crap and with crappy material and it goes for 800 dollars. Target or targe' as I say has great clothes and I shop there.

It's bullsh*t to buy a toddler something they're just going to end up peeing/crapping in anyway.

They're so expensive because it's burberry, rediculous maybe but everything designer is like that. If it's too expensive, don't buy it
