Hi... I have drinks once a week. I work hard all week and like to relax with a drinks on FRI nights. I always drink safely, never drive or get into fights. I'm european so my tollerance is higher than most. I say I have about 6-7 drinks. Would you concider that I have a drinking problem? Also, am I doing major damage to my body?

My former husband was very athletic, gorgeous & basically a really healthy guy years ago. He worked very hard all week & liked to drink on Sundays watching football. The poor guy is now 40 & the doctor told him he has the beginning stages of
(sir row sis) of the liver, please think twice before you continue.

6-7 drinks is considered binge drinking, but that doesn't mean that you have a problem. If you feel that you have to drink, then you may have a problem.

But having 6-7 drinks in one session could cause some health problems. Particularly liver problems, since your liver just can't metabolize alcohol that quickly. Also there are some studies to suggest that that sort of binge drinking could have minor affects on your mental capabilities, such as memory.

In my personal opinion, I think that you are just a normal adult, and that your drinking is not out of control. I would recommend that you watch yourself and make sure that you don't reach a point where you have to drink, or drink that much. Also the damage to your body is not a good thing, but what's life worth if it's not worth living and having a good time.

You do not have a drinking problem. Alcohol is never good for the liver but you're not going to do any major damage.

Sounds as if you are a binge drinker.
6 or 7 is a lot for one night.

Regardless of your ethnic background, body size, male or female, that quantity of "alcohol" at one sitting, is terribly bad for you. I suggest that you go to a AA meeting, just to get the facts! Do it now, before you have a serious medical problem. Please!
