No, I'm totally with you. My wife's screeching is far worse than the 4yo's behaviour; the adult should remain calm, the kid is still learning how to.

Whining is irritating, and when a child is allowed to do it or parents give in to them, it creates problems down the line. He should not yell, but slightly raising your voice so they know you mean business is OK. My son is 2 and he knows what certain vocal tones mean. He knows if I raise my voice that he had better stop doing what he is doing or he will get a time out.

The reason Dads voice is irritating is because you and dad have different views on how to raise your child. What seems to not be a big bother in your childs behavior, is in dadseye's you should talk with dad and find a happy medium.

Quasimodo is right, if you feel that much contempt for your significant other because he fails to model the behavior he expects from your children and you both fail to communicate and resolve this festering issue then it looks like you need to cut your losses now and leave as soon as possible ,it just gets worse from here unless you are both willing to work on your differences and actively try to eliminate the contempt issue which physiologically is like the number one indicator that divorce is pending according to all the studies

Tell the dad to stop that will just make it worst and i think that is why you get annoyed! Because you know it wont stop you'll just have two people being loud!

Nope ... you are not the only one! I know exactly what you mean. And it feels like no matter how many times you talk to good 'ol Dad about it, he still loses it every once in a while.

You hate the old man. Judging by your remarks regarding the hamburger and fries routine on 11/22 i'd say the handwriting's on the wall. Time to pack up the tent and move on. Seriously.

tell your husband that you guys should start treating you kid in a more humane manner. (i.e. if you don't clean your room, you don't get to eat cookies)
