Of course! It is an anti-inflammatory so it will help with the tissue swelling as well as pain.

I don't recommend Aleve. Naproxen Sodium won't help hearly as much as Ibuprofen will. I have had Shingles. It will take you at LEAST 3 months to start feeling like yourself again. You might want to see a doctor again as well. I took Valtrex for 30 days and it REALLY helped me. Stay clear of Aspirin! Aspirin can cause serious problems. Tylenol is OK, Ibuprofen is Best. Also, take frequent baths and showers. It really does help.

I had the shingles and nothing really worked. People told me the pain would last 6 months, I found it hard to believe, but I stayed in pain for 3 months, bad!

If you have shingles you need to see a doctor immediately. You'd be better off with a prescription of Tylonol with codeine or stronger prescription.

Asprin based pain releivers and anti-inflamatories are not recommended for chicken pox. (shingles are the same virus as chicken pox) I would go with an acetamenaphen product(Tylenol)

You might want to ask your doctor and let him prescribe something for the pain.
