Shouldn't parents be more honest with us?

My parents have never said anything about God or Santa my entire life, I was free to decide everything for myself.

I never believed in Santa and realized there was a God around three years old because I realized humans weren't very bright so I had to look else where for truth.

I've raised my son the same way, he's always known there wasn't any Santa without me telling him and he seems to be intelligent enough to also know there's a God. But we don't talk about that either because we don't have to.

As for Santa Claus, it was easy. I eventually just figured it out. As for God, that was a very long intellectual and emotional enlightenment.

I certainly don't resent my parents for "misleading" me about Santa Claus. I'll probably do the same thing with my son.

I was 10 when I stopped believing in santa clause. I don't really remember when I stopped believing in the Christian god. And no, I don't. Children should be able to believe in magic. Their innocence will be removed soon enough. So let them believe.

If you're still resentful of it, then you need to move on. Because if that's the worst thing to ever happen to you, I envy you. There are better things to worry about.

I guess I thought the Santa thing was rather fun as a kid. When I was beginning to believe Santa was a hoax, my Mom confirmed it for me. I wasn't mad. But the point is well taken. Yes...parents should be honest.

Parents may tell us fairy tales but that doesnt rule out all their advise as stories. I am a person of faith yet I dont turn my faith into superstitious mumbo jumbo. I believe faith and reason are like two entities in a handshake, one compliments the other but cannot do without them. I used to study a lot of religions and christian denominations but found the complete 'handshake' in the catholic church as I have studied its teachings a lot! and find a shocking amount of truth in it. Yet my reasoning leads me to loose my faith in Santa as he is just a imaginary figure for the enjoyment of children. Ur parents were doing the best for you dont accuse them :)
Im just trying to say consider each element of their advise individually and not just shun all things cos some are obviously false.
Just trying to help.

My parents taught me there was a God and I still believe it....only because I did what the Scriptures says and received Jesus Chrsit as Lord and Savior.
Have you repented of your sins yet ? Or are you still mislead into the delusion that you are not a sinner?

my parents didn't mislead me, nobody can do that as I believe in God very much and I believe in the good that a "Santa" can do. Are you the Grinch or what
