I haven't had a drink for 4 weeks but i always feel like I have a hangover. I'm quite teary and I feel really down most of the time! Do I have Seasonal affected disorder, is it normal stress, or is it just cause my team got beat today?

MMMM I don't know if you are serious or not so I'll asume that you are.
I have SAD,
not having a drink is not a sympton of SAD, not wanting to get out of bed so badly that you cry is.
Feeling down is not a symptom of SAD being in a place so black that you don't even have feelings is.
Wanting/craving sunshine is a classic symptom, it's like being a drug addict and not getting a fix.
Being so depressed that you don't even want to talk to your closest most loved person is.
Hating yourself so much you have absolutely no self esteem at all is.
If you feel all of those then you probably have SAD and should see a doctor.

Is this feeling mostly all of the time or just occasional??

If its constantly nagging at you then it most likely is S.A.D

a TON of the population has this disorder and I beleive myself to have a slight trace of it since alot of the time during fall/ winter I feel depressed and tired even though I dont have much of a reason to be (well, I guess I would feel tired since I am a highschool student working my butt off and getting minimal sleep)

If you think you do have it I would call up my doctor and explain the symptoms just to be sure

there are these light machines you can purchase that produce the same type of rays that you would get from sunlight

we got ours from costco but im sure you could find it online if you dont feel like making an extra trip to the store

It's hard to say because although psychiatrists claim that a mental disorder called Season Affective Disorder exists, most psychologists don't because they claim that there isn't enough evidence to prove its existance.

I'm no expert, but it sounds to me that you may have a mixture of anxiety and mild depression going on, and that could be caused by stress or poor coping of stress. If I were you I would see a counsellor of qualified clinical psycholigist about it to help you cope, especially since this problem sounds like it's ongoing and it's affecting your life.

Good luck to you, and I hope you feel better soon.

I`d go for a mixture of all three to be honest with you. Withdrawl symptoms of drink (or lack thereof), emotional stress due to personal issues AND the fact your team got whupped can all go together to form one hell of a potent mix that will be hard to recover from.

Chin up and try to be positive. Ready for the cliche? don't worry every cloud has a silver lining and there will be light at the end of the tunnel.

Seasonal affected disorder is to do with the weather...you get depressed cos there isn't enough light for your hormones. Maybe you're just stressed?

Have you been through any kind of trauma in the past year? Could you be underestimating the effect it's had on you? Who is there for you? Stop being so bloody brave, take some of your own advice and lean on the people who care about you.
take care, hun,
xx

Could be a mild case of Aspartame Poisoning.

Check everything you eat or drink for Aspartame and cut it out. It is a known depressent and it is addictive - among over things.

You could have S.A.D. or P.M.S. Or there could be some other physical problem that's causing your depression. See your doctor to rule out anything physical. He or she may recommend some mood brighteners for you to take.
