I am doing a project for Physical science where I have to create a wehicle that will transport a 1lb box of Arm&hammer baking soda 2m, drop it off, and go back 1m. I can only use the power of 2 rubber bands. I cannot use slingshot type devices and I cannot use any other power sources besides the rubber bands. Any ideas?

Use the box of baking soda as a weight to provide torque to propel the vehicle and to wind the rubber bands. Once the box hits the ground, the hook can fall off and the rubber bands will unwind and propel the vehicle back the 1m.

You are using the box of baking soda as potential energy converted to kinetic energy to wind the bands and propel the vehicle.
