antivirus scanners can pic up the same, but when you do spyware different ones find differnet kinds, im not talking about tracking cookies other. Spyware doctor, spysweeper, and counter cpy all pick up different kinds of spyware on your computer, why is this. Some may find different tool bars, trojans, or high jackers on your pc.

No, AV scanners don't always pick up the EXACT same stuff because they have different databases and look in different areas of the computer.
The SAME thing goes for spy-ware scanners.
The SAME goes for other mal-ware scanners.

most of the programs you are talking about are no good they are junk there are two that are free well actually three and they are free and proven and wont hurt your computer or cause you all of head-aces. these are spy bot search and destroy!AVG anit virus and Ad aware SE these are the best and they are free you dont need anything else i know i have been at this game for along time and they are simply the best and if you go to yahoo.com just type any of these things into there search section and you will find them well that is all signed glen bell

They are different ,since they are offered by different companies....!I can give a few links that offer free virus and spyware removers...!You may be having a virus or spyware installed on your PC. Norton, AVG , Avast are free antivirus software. Ad-aware, Ewido are free spyware removers. You can download free softwares at

No one company has figured out how to do everything the best way. Scanning and comparing against signature files are different by different companies.

They all have their own list of bad stuff. There is not any master list of nasty stuff.
