and what kind of paint did you use, do I prime first?

first if it is in a basement it needs to be sealed with a substance like drylock(name brand) it will have to be primed and then you can paint away. also if it is old concrete you may need to clran it first with a chemical called php

I painted my concrete porch, twice. I asked at Lowe's and the salesman said no primer was needed, it was just necessary to clean the surface well. I did that in both instances and the paint began to chip off almost immediately. It's probably a good idea to go to a paint store and ask about the process there. They do make concrete stain that may work better than paint.

yes you must enable a gloss or under coat paint to make it well done
