I have capital one, like most first time credit card owners.
I pay off the balance often ( if I havee the cash I will blow it anyway, this way I am building history) and I have never been late. I still have a measly 300 limit.. When do people normally get their increase and how much?

I got an increase about a year after I received my capital one card. And the sad thing is you can't just call and ask for one because they don't do it. So all you have to do is keep paying on time. Keep your balance relatively medium-ish - eventually they will increase it without you knowing. The plus side to waiting is that you DON't hav the higher limit. LOL.

Usually you can dial the company's 1-800 # and there will be an option to request a credit limit increase. Try calling and see, if not ask the phone rep and they can tell you.

You should ask every 6 months and an accont manager may approve an increase.
