Pretentending to be one of them what do you think is really in their heads~?
here is my example:
Well (pretending to be a supporter)~ I support them cause alot of my family is here illegally, but most of all because of their "race" I mean come ~on- obviously they're La Raza what else needs to be said. I support illegal aliens mainly because I care more about My own race, than I do about ANY stinkin Americans!!~ besides when I get my criminal relatives legalized we will be a huge viable voting block that will destroy America as we know it today~ we want to make America just like Mexico so La Raza wont have anywhere to run!

What should be of greater concern to American citizens is not how horrible these illegals must be.. but WHY they even exist!
WHY do they want ot leave their country which neighbors your own, and can more be done about it?
AS a "legal" immigrant.. I can to tell you this.. life is not made easy for any imigrant especially if poor and destitute.. and worse still if without proper documents to open bank accounts and gas accounts..
Granted illegal immigration IS illegal!! and I for one do respect the law.. however I think given the fact that the ultra wealthy for a time used and encouraged illegal immigration, and also integrated it's factories in "economic zones" which built a perfect bridge for illegal immigrants.. and also the middle class benefited from price savings created by the work and labor of these illegal immigrants.. perhaps a little more "discretion" could be employed in now dealing with them..
I don't think they are so much a problem.. the policies of the USA are the problem.. not enough jobs.. and more jobs disapearing each year.. now the average american wants the illegal imigrants low paying slave job.. it's gotten that bad!

Many illegal alien supporters are non hispanic legal citizens. The illegals are their mates. I could answer your question in the way you specified, but I can be pretty mean and offensive when I want to be. Okay, I'll try anyway:
"But I love him! The law has no right to take him from me and our children! And I'll keep him even if I have to help him break these stupid racist laws! I'll even fight for amnesty to make sure I don't lose him. Screw the economy and the people who are hurting because of my decision! I want what I want and I will have it!"
Jake has a point. How does a pro-illegal know that their illegal spouse loves them? They should think about that while they are defending them. A person does not always know when they have been married for citizenship.

First of all, though I appreciate the sentiment, your approach is just making the rest of us who are against illegal immigration look stupid.
The main reasons that people support illegal immigration is that they feel guilty for 'having so much while other have so little' and they want to give away and share what this country has to offer. What they don't realize is that they are giving away
A) what they didn't earn in the first place -> this nation was built by our ancestors
and
B) they are giving away what isn't theirs -> this nation dosen't belong to the immigrants and it dosen't belong wholely to their supporters either.
I and many like me don't feel guilty for living here, sure we have obligations to the less fortunate but some of those obligations include being responsible with our resources and investing them properly so that we can *grow* to help others more.
Illegal immigration is squandering tons of resources that could go to helping the *American poor* by overextending our supplies (medical, educational, legal etc). We need to put our house in order before we try to clean up our neighbor's.

Ok:
Every so often there is a huge backlash against immigrants, legal and illegal. Usually these backlashes, like this one, is based on faulty beliefs that immigrants are causing a huge crime increase, or are taking jobs, or are taking drugs, or are raping white women, etc. And it always turns out that these mass hysterias are mistaken about the impact of immigration. The mass panic behind the current backlash is an economic fear (although occassionally fears of crime and the non-white outsider shine through). There is a lot of fear about job loss, and globalization and the accompanying offshoring of jobs makes this a very real fear. The companies that offshore american jobs cannot themselves be questioned, since they are very powerful and they embody the capitalist ideal. Instead powerless scapegoats need to be targeted and accused of taking jobs, despite the fact that they take unskilled jobs that americans have shown over and over again they do not want. But its much more convenient to blame the powerless outsider than the corporation which is actually taking away hundreds of thousands of skilled jobs that americans do want.
The hypothetical supporter of illegals could point out that its misplaced economic fears that are at the root of the current hysteria. They could say that the conditions that america faces today, having been attacked by a faceless foreign enemy, experiencing frustration in international relations and an unpopular war, numerous apparent attacks on the "american" way of life (gay marriage debates, loss of jobs through outsourcing, etc.) are conditions that have historically led people to scapegoat outsiders and exaggerate the threats posed by them. They could point out that America has experienced a backlash against almost all groups of immigrants, and the reasons for these periodic backlashes have always been mistaken.
The hypothetical supporter could point out that anti-illegal tactics will invariably lead to discrimination against legal immigrants (especially hispanics) since you cannot detect an illegal on sight and must require paperwork and document checks for all sorts of ordinary activites. This increased surveillance will inevitably increase the size of government and its ability to pry into personal lives. Not just illegals, but all people will be required to show documentation for any number of ordinary activities in the effort to uncover illegals.
The supporter could also point out that illegals are a big part of the american economy, and maybe more steps should be taken to discourage future illegals, but punishing the present illegals will hurt the american economy. Illegals provide a lot of cheap labor that many companies, especially agriculture, rely on for business. While these illegals do not pay taxes, their cheap labnor allows their bosses to make enough profit so that their taxes more than make up for the illegal's tax burden.
Pretending to be one of them, that's what I would think would be in their head.

I wish I could even pretend to get into the head of someone who supports blanket illegal acceptance. You did better than I could. How about we fix the problems for American citizens... get them jobs... get them fed... get them clothed and under shelter before worrying about people who can't even be bothered to go through proper channels, however red tape filled those channels may be.
I'm sorry if their entire family is here. If they came legally, so then should they. If their country is so bad that they feel they must leave it to survive or get better, come on over. But do it legally and don't make me have to change MY life to accomodate YOU.

A lot of people support them because they have family who are illegal immigrants, or family stuck in Mexico trying to get in here. Hence, their motivations are purely personal. I've lived in both countries and this is a huge driving factor..
As far as logical reasoning? Can't think of any arguments that I can't easily shoot down, sorry.

its never going to be legal, like it or not. because then the US will be overflowed with immigrants from all over the world and over populate the country...etc. But, i cannot blame you for supporting it, because ur family has a better life here...BUT, dont beat upon the americans that are hosting u! if you want to make a difference, put an effort in trying to make ur country livable instead of trying to overtake another one and bring it down as well.

For those that say we married for love, well how do you know that, what if he or she just married you to stay here ? The illelag immigrants are openly breaking our laws, and those that help them are breaking our law also. Heck in some cities they even have offices where they help the illegal immigrant get help.
