Firstly, you need to understand the reward system of the Blue Card.
The reward program is exactly identical as the Membership Rewards program for Amexs' charge cards. The one difference is in the airline program.

The Membership Rewards program has 21 airline partners where you can transfer one point for one miles equivalent in their partners air miles program. For the Blue card, you need 2 points to transfer to 1 mile. Hence you need to spend twice the amount to get equivalent miles. You can get around this by paying an annual for the full membership rewards program, which cost $40.00. Then one point can be transferred for one mile.

As to how many miles you need to fly to the philippines, it depends on which airline you use. You have to check the airlines frequent flyer program to find out. Once you have this information, you can then figure out how much you need to spend on the card before you can get your free airline ticket to the Philippines.

While I agree with Nick's answer, I would NOT use their point system to try to earn the trip. There are other cards that offer a better reward rate for the same expenditures.
In my opinion, I would use the cash rewards version of the card and save up the money the old fashioned way.
For such an airline trip, you would have to spend on your AMEX Blue well over $25,000.00. It took me over a year and I ended up paying $40.00 a year in order to receive the maximum Membership Rewards.
