Where to start.....
How about the fact that you can make it a year before you eat it?
green cherries?
Bit's of disgusting dried unrecognizable fruit?
The odd walnut that's rancid but slips by into the cake?
Unpleasant flavour/texture of the cake the other crap is baked in?
Hmmmm, that's all that's coming to mind right now but given a few more minutes I'm sure I could come up with more.

I don't know. I love the fruit cake. I live near the Abbey where the monks make the fruitcake. They get tipsy on the rum and I get yummy fruit and nut cake. Win Win I should say. Nana

Its taste. I think it's an aquired taste! My aunt who made it always loved fruit cake. I couldn't stand the stuff. Still can't.

you guys have never had a good fruitcake. Probably the ones that are soaked in booze to hide the lack of skill of the baker.
