It may not have been all that enjoyable for you because you were so paranoid and probably somewhat nervous. You did not get the same sensation as if you had fully enjoyed it without the stress or paranoia. Sex is not overrated, it is just discussed too much. Everything revolves around sex because it is an important part of relationships in today's society. Sex does not, nor is it supposed to, resolve all of your problems in your life......It is supposed to give you a temporary safe haven from those problems with someone you love, so that the two of you can enjoy in bliss, and then return to your probelms, only to know that you can enjoy that bliss again at any time........No, sex is not overrated, it is just rated in the wrong way..

I agree with you: sex is overrated and exploited. With so many different kinds: pity sex, casual sex, it has lost all emotional connection, and after you have "sex", life IS the same. Nothing changes. But consider this: there is a big difference between having "sex", and "making love". Sex is simply the physical act of engaging in intercourse, and some individuals like to engage in this activity with no strings attatced. However, making love is the most beautiful thing in the world, because not only are you coming together as one body, you also come together as one mind and one soul. You are completely submitting yourself, body and mind, to that person you love, and for a few minutes (or however long your stamina allows), you do forget about all your troubles in the world. Now even making love can't simply make your problems go away, and you can't expect it to because you will be setting yourself up for disppointment. But this much is true: when you truly make love with someone, it is a life altering experience when you do it for the first time. You'll feel it, with every ounce of your being, and experience the GREATEST and most intimate connection you can make with the person you love possible; I know this is how it was for me when I lost my virginity, which was only about a month ago, and I'm 19 myself. It made us SO much closer; I'm still with him today, and love him more and more everyday.
I'm sorry that you couldn't experience that as you lost your virginity, but I guess now, you'll really appreciate the difference that making love has to offer. So don't get discouraged, and don't pay attention to the world's exploitative manner. You are right about sex, but turn your sights towards making love.

sex isn't as good until you are in love deeply. when there is emotion and comfort in it you will enjoy it the most. Plus it was your first time so you may have got caught up in "doing it right." Yeah, life goes on. sex has been around since adam and eve. TV makes it seem like once you graduate the v club, it's a whole new world. Not so much. Until you are completely comfortable with your partner sex is just sex.

The ONLY thing that changes after sex, is that as a man, you might sleep a little better, that you might feel a little "relief" and that in both your heads, your relationship has changed -- and if she should get pregnant or either of you come down with an STD, it changes even more. But, does the world stop turning? No.
Personally, I LIVE for sex. You will get better with practice.

First, like you said you were scared and paranoid. Second, yes, sex with people you barely know does tend to be overrated.
When you are with someone you care about and feel comfortable with, where you are both interested in pleasing each other, is when it is best.
But it is never a solution for the other crappy problems in your life. Hopefully you never actually expected it would be.

Your problems will never be fixed through sex.... It is talked about so much because it's one of the best feelings in the world.... Once you get a little more experience with it you'll start to feel the same way....

The getting lucky sex is over-rated but sex with someone you love is far better. When you love someone that cares about you and you care about them you share your problems and happiness and you work together to make things better, including sex.

when you find the right person to be with and you are in love with that person then sex is the most ultimate expression of love. Casual sex will never be as sweet as loving sex. Experience it, it is much different.

Sex is everywhere, no wonder it doesn't have much meaning any longer. Never let someone or something decide on your quaility of life. Sex is sex and love is love. They are diffirent for sure.
