Technically, either, but (I believe) if you're in America, the period stays on the inside.

The period goes outside the quotation marks, since it's a part of the sentence, and not a part of the name "Hamlet".

According to The Elements Of Style, by Strunk and White, the period belongs inside the quotation mark. (Unless my remembery is faulty and I'm losing it).
By the way - "The Lion King" is also a title.
