The question should be "Why do SOME Christians..." because I, for one, believe whatever god people believe in, it's the same one, just a different name.
It goes both ways, however. I know many Muslims who discriminate the Christian god. I know not all of them are like that, but it still hurts.

Yes the Christian God and Allah and Jehovah and G*d in the Jewish religion ARE the same god. If you study religion you will find that originally it was all the same religion. The primary difference is simply whether one believes that Jesus Christ was the messiah or a prophet. However....how many Christians put bombs in their shoes or fly airplanes into buildings to kill Muslims? I think that SOME Muslims are discriminating against the Christian God not the other way around.

A better question is why does any religion or form of religion discriminate or hate another? How can you be true to your God whomever it is if you hate and kill another? Who is to say your god is the right one and who is to say mine is? It is not Christians killing just Muslim's it is also Muslim's killing Muslim's and Christians killing Christians. What if God by whatever name you wish to call him is the founder of all religion's and no one can lay claim to the perfect religion? What if you get to heaven only to find a Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, etc., are your next door neighbor?

The God of the Bible is not, in fact, the God of the muslim people. Abraham's first two sons each were given a people. The son of Abraham, Ishmael, was not the son of promise. He was a son created in sin, but not out of the will of God. Issac was the son of promise. I don't know that we discriminate against Muslims. We will share the gospel with anyone who we come into contact with. I don't think we keep it from the Muslim people. All people are born with Adam's nature and all need the redeeming power of Jesus. Not all will accept, but all will know the truth in the end. Muslims are not a part of the plan of salvation any more than atheists and any other non believing person. God is glorified in all of these people whom He created either in their salvation or cursing. We are not to discriminate against them. He does all of that. There are plenty of unbelieving, unsaved people in the Christian corporate church. Not everyone will be saved...but we are to share His gospel with everyone. Hope this helps.

It depends who you ask.
Most Muslims I know, including myself, agree that all people who worship one God inherantly worship the same God of the three major Abrahamic faiths, and their offsets. The world "Allah" in arabic is literally translated to "The God", meaning the one and only God. Arabic language is very specific.
Also, it's worth noting that Christian Arabs also refer to God as Allah when using their native tongue for this reason.
Many Muslims view Islam as an extension of Christianity and Judaism. Ie: Judaism came first, setting down ground rules and the basis for the one-God religions - then Christianity came and added more to it, while remaining with the same basic principles, and Islam came last, to correct some corruptions and to re-affirm the message of God in a time and place that desperately needed it.
I've been told by some of my Christian friends that they refuse to believe we share the same God...
The fact of the matter is that Christians believe that Jesus and God are one in the same. So, if you ask a Christian if we believe in the same God, it's likely they will say no, assuming they are aware that we do not worship Jesus as more than a Prophet. Christianity is a faith based predominately around Jesus. It is believed by Christians that Jesus was god in the form of man, sent to earth to die for our sins. So, of course a Christian will not believe we worship the same God if they are aware that we do not believe that Jesus was God, that he died for our sins, etc.
However, when asking a Muslim, 99.999% of the time, they will say that yes, we believe in the same God because to a Muslim, Christians are misguided in their worshipping of Jesus, and the belief that Jesus was god. Islam was sent to people, by our beliefs, to set that straight.
It's not really a matter of discrimination - it's a matter of religious semantics. It all depends on who you ask. It's a matter of perspective. Neither side can be proven right or wrong because both sides have inherantly different beliefs on the matter.
There is a lot of ignorance out there on this topic, and it's sad.
I don't expect Christians to agree with me when I say we worship the same God, but some respect and understanding on the issue would be nice once in a while.
The fact that some people still believe that we named our moon god "allah" (astagfurallah) speaks for itself. Silly stuff.

Christians do not believe that Muslims worship the One True God. We believe Jesus is God, and that God is formed of the Holy Trinity, three in one, God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit.
Muslims believe Jesus was a prophet, and that 'Allah' is God.

Yes they are One & the same. The fact that the Chiristians have elevated Jesus to the son of God doesn't dismiss the fact that ALL the prophets from Adam, through to Jesus & finally with Muhammad (PBUT) preached the worship of one God.
How come none of the prophets before Jesus (PBUH) called for the belief in the trinity? Are they all doomed then as they didn't believe in it nor reach it?

I think your question should work the other way round?
Christians arent killing people in the name of God!!
differentiation and discrimination are two different things.
One supports war in his name the other doesnt how can they be the same?

Christains seem to be more "controlling" than other religions, thats why it is a common steryotype to see a christain shoving their beliefs down anothers throat, however it is not the one and the same God
they have Allah
we have God
then again Allah maybe just their name of God
but Allah maybe our same God, i do not know

Greet you in the same manner as Jesus (pbuh) greeted in Hebrew Luke 24:36
‘Sholam alay kum’
or Islamic greeting in Arabic Assalaamu alai kum
both meaning ‘Peace be on you’.
GOD is One and the same. we muslim believe in All Prophets from Adam to Muhammad pbuh them all.....all prophet taught monothiesm, which is Islam.
n e ways...if some christian disagree about "God is one and the same" then ask the arab christian why they say Allah instead of God...and why its Allah in Bible instead of God.
The most concise definition of God in Islam is given in the four verses of Surah Ikhlas which is Chapter 112 of the Qur’an:
"Say: He is Allah(God),
The One and Only.
"Allah, the Eternal, Absolute.
"He begets not, nor is He begotten.
And there is none like unto Him."
[Al-Qur’an 112:1-4]
PEACE!
