It could be what they used to numb you. Nothing to fool around with. Either the dentist or pharmacist should know. Or your GP. Best to ask asap. It could be very serious. I don't know why the dentist didn't say something. I'd start there and not give up asking.

I had this same problem after I got my white fillings. If you used gas, all of it might not have gotten out of your system. But, like some other people said it could be all the blood that was rushing to your head while laying back in the chair. I never passed out, though.

Here's my tip - when you're done w/ filling, don't go rushing off! I know your'e eager to pay the bill, butttt.... :)

This is most likely orthostatic hypotension - basically, you're tipped back , the blood rushes to your head and when you sit up, you can feel dizzy, etc.

When it happened at the mall...well, who knows where you were sitting.

As for your asthma...see your doctor!

It has nothing to do w/ the filling!

I haven't been able to find anything on the internet that relates to asthma and composite fillings. Composite fillings are pretty benign; they are made out of a plastic and glass resin.

If during the procedure, the dentist used a 'dental dam' that is to say a latex rubber sheet to prevent you from choking on your own saliva, there are some allergy concerns raised regarding these.

Your best bet is to bring it up with your dentist directly.

The answer ,orthostatic hypotension is a distinct likelihood. As for your asthma you may be experiencing a 'rebound' effect related to your drug(s) for the asthma. That you need to check with your therapist who's attending to that problem.
