Where does this one come from? It makes no sense, theres nothing good about a burning house.

it is true, there is nothing good about a house on fire, but, like a good relationship, it will be roaring, get heated, be quite fierce, can be very scary, intense, may become unpredictable and can be reduced to nothing if left unchecked!!

Because a house on fire will burn well and for a long time and so on i suppose...

It can mean "To hit it off", "To happen quickly", or
"To get along well".
