it depends. Say, you receive a grant worth 4050 for the year, but you are only attending the fall semester. you are not eligible for the other half 2025 b/c you will be attending the spring semester. Grants are contingent you you attending a perspective semester and successfully completing it. However, if your grant covered your cost of attendance for that semester and there is a money left over in that semester, then you are entitled to it.

left over money from your financial aid award letter and package should be sent to you from your school. Contact the FA office and let them know that you did not receive anything and were expecting something or are you to expect anything in the mail this semester. Usually if you have FA and a Pell grant you get a small check back in the middle of the term. You may have signed something that has allowed a check for your living expenses to be disbursed once a year instead of per semester. Check with financial aid. Be consistent and do it right away.

Yes, according to your college...The college will usually take out the money that you owe and then they will cut you a check for the rest
