Both cameras are very good, with each having it's pros and cons.
The Canon SD600 is a very good choice, has 6MP and is very compact, but with limited manual controls.
The F30 is also a good choice, with manual control...and Its THE best compact that shoots well in low light(handheld & without flash). High ISO.
It doesn't have an optical viewfinder, however, it has an amazing battery life of up to 580 shots.
So, if you want a really good camera, particularly for low-light, inside shots (parties, concerts, nightshots etc) and great battery life, then the F30 is the one to get.
Get the Canon if you want the best outdoor shots.
Either one is good.........flip a coin maybe...lol

These two seem rather comparable, but the Fuji has a much larger sensor. Tests show that this gives better images, especially in low light. This is counterbalanced by the fact that the Canon has an optical viewfinder, in my opinion. There are several things wrong about not having an optical viewfinder, so read my monthly rant and decide which matters more to you.
I would choose almost any camera with an optical viewfinder over one that only has an LCD viewfinder. Why?
1. You never have the option of turning off the LCD and these things eat batteries for lunch and spit them out. Why do away with the option of a viewfinder that has zero electrical drain?
2. It can be difficult to see the image on an LCD in bright sunlight, even if they are "new and improved."
3. You have to hold an LCD viewer out at some distance in front of your face. This is more conspicuous than I prefer to be all the time.
4. The need to hold a camera at arms length will introduce some shake. I like the idea of stabilizing a camera against my face when I am taking a picture. This is especially important with a longer zoom lens. No wonder "image stablization" or "vibration reduction" is necessary with these cameras. Not that there's anything WRONG with IS or VR, but it is really a requirement with LCD viewfinders and telephoto lenses.
5. Using the LCD to view photos after you've taken them slows down the camera quite a bit. You can't shut of the LCD monitor and still take pictures if you don't have an optical viewfinder.

Canon SD600
6mp
3x optical zoom
lithium ion rechargable battery
has a viewfinder, so if you are outside and have a glare on the LCD screen, you can use it to take a good picture. Also, if you have a low battery and turn off the LCD screen, you can still take a ton of pictures by using the viewfinder alone.
You can do cool effects such as color accent, which makes everything black and white except for one color, color swap, which allows you to switch colors in a picture, and choose a certain color to stand out in a picture. Neat features, easy to use. Awesome camera.
Also, it uses an SD memory card, which is much more common. Fuji uses xD and only Fuji and Olympus use it, which keeps you limited. most cameras use an SD card, so it is a type of memory that will be around for awhile. more than likely if you buy a new camera years later, you can still use that memory card. You also have the option to use the Ultra II Memory cards which are 9x faster than the regular memory cards. This basically makes it so that when you take a picture, it is saved to the card faster so that you can take the next picture sooner. It is great if you ever do action shots or video clips. Definitely worth the extra money.
Also, the optics and lens quality of Canon is much better. You will have much better color clarity and definition.

I mostly agree with "Dr. Sam's" answer above. However, having / not having a viewfinder is a personal decision. Simply put some people like to use it, some people don't even know if its there. For example, I have a Canon SD700IS (which is similar to SD600, but with image stabilization) and I never even once used the viewfinder. However, I wouldn't go as far to say you have to have it / or you don't have to have it. If you like viewfinders go with Canon SD600.
Fuju F30, on the other hand, has great ISO sensitivity. This will come very handy at night when you're trying to take a picture.
My rcommendation:
* If you will be mostly taking day time shots, go with the Canon (viewfinder will come handy).
* On the other hand, if you'll be mostly taking night time shots go with Fuji (ISO sensitiviy will come handy)
* Otherwise, they are both good cameras, pick the one you like most!

I have a Fuji movie A360, and that i very not often have problems with it. It comes with application so that you may edit images and such. there are a selection of settings, and that's conventional with once you take advantage of a flash. The pictures are in many situations sturdy and clean. The digicam itself calls for little upkeep. you should use rechargeable batteries, because both digicam will devour up many batteries. (I used to move with the help of a %. of four in a month.) i imagine the absolutely distinction between the digicam you've listed and that i have is that mine is smaller to date as pixels move. Canon Powershots, I have had difficulty with the zoom and flashes. many situations the shutter ought to stick and it ought to favor to be fastened. desire this helps.
