Has to be Peter, if the question is confined to the original 12.

Matt. to Rev. - Peter is mentioned 155 times and the rest of apostles combined are only mentioned 130 times. Peter is also always listed first except in 2 places.

i'll get thumbs down 4 this but i think judas, he was 1 of the greatest because he was demonised and misunderstood.
turns out he was only doing what jesus had asked & pleaded 4 him 2 do.
at great personal danger and loss 2 himself.
read the link below.

judas is a story we can all learn from.
sometimes we have 2 do things completely the opposite of what we would normally do.
sometimes.
thanx very much 4 being so kind 2 me.
u made my day and i'll now sleep soundly, after all.

Jesus said of John the baptist, There is non greater than he on Earth. He also said of Peter . Peter you are my rock and upon this Rock I shall Build my Church and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it. The vatican was built over St Peters Tomb. Thats why nobody no Evil will ever be able to destroy the Catholic Church. Its a big question though. I dont really think Jesus felt one was really greather than the other.

I would not classify any of them as the "greatest" however I would say that Paul is more popular, in that he has more books in reference in the Bible than the others. He played a significant role in that Jesus foretold that Paul would deny him before the rooster crowed three times and that did indeed come to pass. So there is Paul preaching the gospel and saving lives. His, as is John the Baptist, a great story to behold.

I Like John for his love of the body of Christ.
I think Saul/Paul is awesome for the ultimate example of a minister.
If I have only one choice. I would Choose Paul.
