Purgatory is real. I'm no Catholic but I've studied purgatory. Hell is questionable but purgatory is real.

Jesus suggested that eye has no longer seen nor ear heard the wonders that are in Heaven. i'm no longer even going to make a guess in this one; for as quickly as i'd quite be greatly surprised. Heaven is a place yet no longer in time nor measurement as all of us know it, we don't have actual bodies until eventually the tip of time, I have not any concept what a clean earth would be, I go away that to God administration. we are judged as quickly as we die and we are given a decision, God will take care of absolutely everyone with mercy and love for people who in no way heard approximately Him, Purgatory is a place of cleansing until eventually now we bypass to Heaven.

Your right. in order to answer your question, one must know what it is your asking. You must first understand the idea behind it. It once was an idea that in order for them to raise money to build St. Peters Basilica, they "Pope and His group" would allow people to pay for indulgences. This idea allowed them to raise the money they needed. The thought was if you wanted to indulge in something you could pay a determined price to do this. Another idea was raised about purgatory. If a loved one died, it was said that they went into a place called purgatory"which the bible correctly uses a place called sheoul. not the same as purgatory though" While in purgatory, it was said that loved ones could "buy" you out of purgatory. They could pay a certain amount of money to get you out of it. Again this concept was brought on by The Pope. They could either wait til you did enough good works to get you out of purgatory or someone paid for you to get out. This teaching goes against the Teaching of Faith. God's word says that you are saved by Grace, and that through Faith. NOT of works lest any man should boast. If it is of works it is no more of Grace. You can not buy your way into Heaven. Scripture also shows where Peter was preaching to some people an Simon tried to pay for the Holy Ghost and Peter told him that His money perish with Him. If you seperate the false teachings of early Catholoism from true worshippers who know that Christ is the only way, then you see the truth.

Dear Cris,
Many people do speak before they are informed of the facts.

Here is a web site that might be helpful to you;

I respect your opinion, but reserve the right to disagree. Following the traditions of man, rather than the Word of God is following a religion rather than a true relationship with Christ. Nowhere in the bible is purgatory taught. Neither are indulgences, praying to Mary, praying to saints, calling a man rather than God, Father, infant baptism. These are traditions of a religion and not Godly doctrine.

Ephesians 2:8" For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast."

Read and study the bible for yourself. Romans is a good place to start. Ask questions, check answers against the Word of God.

Purgatory is a Catholic belief. I personally don't believe in it because the Bible states:

2 Corinthians 5:8
We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

God is not limited by time or space - when you die, you go directly to be with the Lord.

I did not read your other question, my friend I do know the catholic teachings, & there is no such place as purgatory, you either go to heaven or hell. In heaven you wait for the time Jesus Christ will bring back those who died in the Apostles faith to rule & reign, To those in hell they will wait until the 1000 yrs Millennium is over to be judged, There is no in between place, That is a man made doctrine, show me any place in the bible where it mentions purgetory, all I need is one verse.

I was a Catholic for many years and had a brother who was going through to become a priest. There is no referance in the bible to purgatory. If there was such an important place Jesus would have told us, but the bible remains strangely quiet on the subject. Think about it, such a place suggests that Jesus death on the cross to pay for our sins was insufficient. We cannot save ourselves. If we could have Jesus would have never needed to come and die for us. If going to heaven is based on our ability to be good, how would we know when we have reached that point. And again Jesus would have never had to die for us. We need to VERY CAREFUL about changing God's word with our empty traditions. Jesus warned about this very same situation. As a Catholic I was taugth to put God first in my life.It is the first commandment and in obediance to that commandment I must put God above any church or priest as well. Men can be wrong and Jesus would never expect us to substitute our faith in God with faith in the church. If you are doing so you are on dangerous ground. It says alot when I see people giving thumbs down to people who are giving scripture for their beliefs. They don't seem to understand or respect God's word.
