OK, one idiots guide coming up (not calling you an idiot by the way lol).
When you are in Windows, click Start, All Programs then find on the list the Startup. Is Adobe in there? If yes just take it out (right click over it on the menu and select delete). The programme will NOT be uninstalled, but it won't run when Windows boots up.
If you want to uninstall it, click Start, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs. Select Adobe (or whatever you want to remove) and click on the Remove button. Follow the prompts on screen.
Reboot your computer and hey presto it's gone :) Good luck

Well for your first question go to the start menu, all program, startup. There you will see what will start up when your computer starts up. Delete it.
For your second question if you want to unstall it, click on start, then click on control panel. A window will pop up. Then go to add remove program. A window will pop up again. There you can remove programs that you don't want.

Go to the Start button, click on Startup and delete it out of startup.
If you want to get rid of it for good, then go to start>control panel>add/remove programs.
