Religion is much more of a personal matter here in the UK. No one has ever asked me if I go to church or which denomination I belong to. It does come up at work in August or so -- when I ask for Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur off. Then people are interested in my being Jewish, but really more as a cultural thing.
Some areas, particularly coastal fishing communities, still have a lot of deeply pious and conservative Christianity. Things like not working on Sundays, and tensions about changes to laws regarding that.
Mostly it's a personal matter that means a lot to the people who practice. But there just isn't the animosity and self-righteousness that is par for the course through much of the U.S.

UK Christianity is very liberal and has no pretensions of interfering in law, politics or education whereas Christianity in the US tends to be more conservative and evangelical in its outlook. The creationist, evangelical types who are common in the US are very few and far between in the UK.

I have no idea about the UK, but I can tell you this. We have scores and scores of believers here in the USA. But, despite all of this POTENTIAL POWER, none find unity. And because of this, believers are being stepped on left and right with issues like gay marriage and abortion and Christ being mocked regularly on the air waves. Infact, the Holidays are coming and most people are afraid to say MERRY CHRISTMAS for fear of a backlash.
So, I can tell you this with authority, many Christians, no unity, means they failed the Lord.

U.K. is much more secularized like a lot of Europe. Why do ask the question? Are you going there? If your a Christian, God can use you to be a light in that country.
