My bird got out of it's cage and flew around the house and into the window a couple of times. Now the tip of it's beak is broken off, it is bleading a little and I put some flour on it to stop the bleeding. Is there anything else I can do? Will he be okay? Please help!!!

If it is only he tip on the beak and if the bleeding stopped the bird will be fine. The bird will file its own beak on the perch sandpaper or mineral block. If the beak is damaged at the cere(the part that joins the head) the bird may need the help of a vet. A bird can survive with a very damaged beak but it will need hand feeding till the beak grows back. Is you bird still capable of hulling seed?

keep the damaged off piece of beak in case you'll locate it . Use some styptic or cornstarch or flour to help provide up the bleeding. it should be conceivable to attach the damaged beak in position utilising a superglue. you want 2 human beings , one to carry the fowl in position and the different to do the gluing. A vet must have a medical version of superglue that should be extra secure for the fowl. in case you dont have the damaged area , it should be conceivable to make a pretend beak out of plastic or between the baked ceramics like FIMO clay and glue it to the stub of the beak . Many vets dont paintings on such small birds. you should properly be able to feed the fowl besides through providing a mash on a spoon , or a feeding syringe. Oatmeal should be an emergency nutrition. A paste of water and seeds overwhelmed will paintings too. overwhelm the seeds dry and blow gently to get rid of the husks. A puppy keep ought to have a formula for infant birds . it may also be able to feed out of a small dish through utilising its tongue and higher beak . good success.

It is impossible to accurately diagnose healthcare online. That being said, if you are terribly worried about it, take the bird to an avian vet.

Birds' beaks shed like our fingernails, the near constant use of their beak along with rubbing it on perches etc help to wear it down to a reasonable level. Breaking the tip off is probably uncomfortable, but other than that no one really knows. If the bird is still using his beak and is able to eat (PLEASE make sure he is able to eat normally) he should be ok. If he cannot eat normally, consider taking him to the vet and asking about how you can help him eat. Birds can starve to death in an amazingly short amount of time, so it's vitally important.

Give him treats and love for me!

It looks like a visit to the vet is in order! If you don't have one, you can find one at
